I got a handful of strange looks for my job title.

Some Post-GDC Thoughts

Some Post-GDC Thoughts
With another Game Developers Conference behind me I'm sitting here in my room trying to get back on my regularly programmed schedule. My brain still feels like it's recovering from having to go a million miles an hour for a week straight. I'm not really used to having a schedule for my day to day life, so when GDC comes around and I have to set alarms to wake up for things and make sure I'm getting to places at certain times, I get worn out pretty quick. In order to try and get back into the groove, I'm going to try to spit out some quick thoughts about GDC in my post-insanity haze.

Stickers!

Hot of the presses from the fine folks at Stickermule! This is probably the only thing I'll be giving out at GDC this year. Only ordered 100 of them because I'm pretty bad at being social and handing out things like business cards and stickers and what not. If you want one just find me during GDC! They go really well on sketchbooks and laptops.

GDC2011: Independence Day

GDC2011: Independence Day
Normally I would probably start posting about Game Developers Conference as soon as I got home from it, but this time is a little bit different. This year I only have 2 whole days of being home in my room before I have to fly out to the east coast for PAX East, so the GDC recap posts will be pretty slow. (I hope that you didn't already forget that Snapshot is sharing a big booth there for the Boston Indie Showcase.)

The first highlight of GDC I will be sharing is going to be probably the best one of them all. This year I gave a 5 minute micro-talk (which I will probably post about later) which somehow lead to me being back on stage in front of the microphone talking about things, doing impressions, and finally executing the Independence Day speech with my dear friend Tommy Refenes.

This magical moment was caught almost entirely on film by the people in the audience, so check it out:

Or look at a a vimeo version.

GDC2011: Check out the Winnitron!

GDC2011: Check out the Winnitron!
The Winnitron is being packed up and transported to GDC this year, and will be playable at the expo hall. There's gonna be a lot of kick ass awesome games to play on it which you can check out in this mega sweet video trailer for it.

Included in this fine line up of games are two of my games! Verge and Space Sushi are both playable on the machine, and on top of that I'll be stopping by the booth on Wednesday, March 2nd, at 1:30pm to talk about my games and other cool stuff. Joining me for that time slot is none other than game developer sweet heart Chevy Ray of Flashpunk fame! It's gonna be a good time for kids of all ages.

If you happen to find yourself at GDC this year then stop on by the expo hall and play some rad games on the Winnitron. SEE YOU THERE!
