RT @jessefreeman: #1GAM: How to Succeed at Making One Game a Month - Tuts+ Game Development Article t.co/jdLEUp6JaN (Today)

@ADAMATOMIC @traceylien @voxdotcom That's why I just stick with the stuffed plush otters. (Today)

@ADAMATOMIC @traceylien @voxdotcom Yeah man don't mess with otters they're fucking crazy. (Today)

@AsherVo does it have online? can I play it? can I play it and become the #1 ranked castle master in this galaxy? (Today)

@floatvoid @jacobalbano Yeah that's why I had to take SpineAnimation.cs out of Otter's default repository :( (Today)

@HansenKimberley @theBanov t.co/jE5B0hsj14 (Today)

@TannerGill_ It is tough to take internet tutorial stuff and use it. I really recommend this: t.co/RZ27t0nGiO (Today)

@TannerGill_ Ah I see. I would recommend something like Game Maker Studio at this point. It's a pretty safe environment to learn in. (Today)

@jacobalbano @floatvoid Yeah I worry since it's not officially maintained though that it'll be janky and/or missing features. (Today)

@floatvoid that's what their runtime license prevents you from doing though :I (Today)

@TannerGill_ Hm what do you mean by new material? Not sure if I'm totally understanding the question. (Today)

@floatvoid Yeah that was pretty mean of them. I pretty much had no idea if I wanted to use it based off the trial because of that. (Today)

@ChevyRay yeah man people just don't converse like they used too t.co/nDS2HIqfOF (Today)

@floatvoid Yeah, well the main reason I used Spine is that they had a ready to roll C# API. Spriter's APIs seem to be less far along. (Today)

@HansenKimberley @theBanov I don't know POOP about Unity though! (Today)

@helvetica @aeiowu It really is amazing how this shit is all playing out just as predicted without net neutrality. (Yesterday)

Space Sushi Ties for 10th

Space Sushi Ties for 10th

The voting for the TIGSource Versus Competition has officially concluded (Well, it actually concluded a week ago or so but I've been too distracted to post about it) and Space Sushi tied with X-Bones, and Tetris Fight Club for 10th place with a whopping 6 votes. There were 80-something entries for this competition, so barely scraping into the top 10 is pretty decent!

The big winner from the competition is 0Space by none other than Teknopants. I know that local multiplayer is very rare, but if you ever get the chance to go head to head with someone on the same keyboard then definitely give 0Space a whirl, and while you're at it you can also give the other 80 or so games a chance too. (If you have an entire day to kill, I guess.)

The idea of versus was a great competition theme, but it kinda falls short because not a lot of players have the opportunity to play local multiplayer on their computers. The time frame of a TIGSource competition doesn't really allow for a robust online multiplayer system for these games, so I feel like not a lot of people really got a chance to play the games this time. Also each voter only had 3 votes for 80 entries, so there wasn't a good distribution of ranks among the results (A majority of the games tied for 58th place with 0 votes.) It's definitely a lot of fun to make a 2 player game, but the severe audience reduction is definitely noticeable, so whenever I make Space Sushi Deluxe, I'll be sure to include a single player campaign. ;D
